So as you may remember, my husband likes either really basic names (
Adam,
Sarah) or Arabic, etc. type names (
Azriel,
Sitara,
Idris). He is Moslem (half Pakistani). I like old-fashioned clunky and/or old-fashioned upper-crust Enlgish kind of names primarily with some other styles thrown in. I am a non-religious person of Western European descent. He vetoes pretty much every name I really love, and I do the same.
So imagine my surprise when
Linus came back on my radar last week, and I happened to mention that fact, and a few days later, he said, "What about
Linus Edmund John?" (
Edmund John is the non-negotiable middle names set.)
I feel I should be ecstatic that he feels he could see us using
Linus, but I'm just not crazy about it with
Edmund John. I think it's how the the "s" slides into the "E": line-uh SED-mund
John. I prefer
Nathaniel Edmund John, which had been our compromise when we had our first, but we went with something else entirely.
TL;DR Husband said he'd be amenable to
Linus Edmund John. Thoughts on the first name and combination? Preference between that and
Nathaniel Edmund John? Any other ideas to go with
Edmund John? Not pregnant, or even TTC, at present, but big brother to hypothetical child would be
Adam Robert Donovan Sh---.
