It's my name so I have to comment. I do like it but I was born in 1990 when it was number 1 so I did have a lot of other Jessicas in my school. Maybe because of the popularity reason as well as the sound, I actually prefer
Jessie as a full name. That said, when I introduce myself as "
Jess", everyone assumes it's short for
Jessica so a
Jess /
Jessie /
Jessa /
Jessamine etc would constantly be explaining what their full name really was to people.
Anyway, it does have a nice look and sound to it and is much less popular than it was 30 years ago (yuck, I'm 30 this year!) and so is more on the "fresh" than "stale" end of the scale these days.
