I love the name Brian. Ryan is just too common amongst my generation.

Brian is an old man’s name here (UK). Ryan feels more 90s. I don’t really like either but if I had to pick one I’d go with Ryan.

I prefer Brian, because it's a name and not a surname. I like both well enough, though.

I like Brian better but they’re both kind of boring.

BrianBrian seems more classic than Ryan, which I’ve come to associate with dumb straight boys. (I was born in 1990 in the United States, so I grew up with a glut of indistinguishable Ryans.)

I see Ryan as youthful, whereas I see Bryan as an old man’s name. I was very surprised to hear a colleague mentioning her boyfriend is called Brian (he’s 18 yo?). Despite popularity in the eighties this is the only Brian I know of.

I much prefer Brian. I could have used it quite happily, but then, I do enjoy vintage names! Ryan, I deplore.

I've always thought Brian has a nicer sound. I like Ryan too though. Brian is just such a great name.
