[Opinions] Allure
What do you think?I babysit a girl named Allure born in 2013. I won’t reveal the middle name for privacy reasons, she was possibly named after the Allure magazine, or inspiration, but that’s all I know. Do you prefer Allura?"People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing all day."'*•.¸♡ Have a great day/night! ♡¸.•*' Rate my personal name list please :) https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/217493

Allure sounds way too sexual for a a regular legal name but perhaps a dancer. Also you were babysitting at 7?

No, I’m babysitting the 7 year-old. Lol.

The relation to the word "lure" bothers me too much for me to really like it. But it's sort of a namey word, if I don't think about the word, and after meeting someone with the name I probably wouldn't think about the word ... unless Allure was like, presenting herself as "alluring"? Then it would seem a tad awkward ... I wouldn't wanna be named it, for that reason.
I could call her Allu or Lulu as a nickname.
Allura is much namier but has a little bit of the same problems.

I don’t care for Allure or Allura; they both sound like assumed stage names or the cloyingly cute names Disney gives its princesses. What I do like is Allira, an Indigenous Australian name.

It's not terrible.Allure kind of reminds me of Velour and Charisma, both of which I'd rather see (those have a more interesting sound and/or more character imv).Allura reminds me of Alora and Aludra. It's okay, but I like Aludra and not the other two.

It’s too wordy, and reminiscent of magazine.

I don't really like it. I dislike Allure and Allura about equally. It's not a horrible name or anything I just don't really see the appeal and most likely she will be another Allie later on.Sorry I can't write much on this name because not much comes to mind. It's okay.

I prefer Allora.

It's as good an illustration of the "stripper name" phenomenon as any. It's so self-consciously sexy and well, alluring. Very low-rent. Allura is only a bit better, it actually sounds like a car model.

I agree with this
