[Opinions] "Rit" as a pet name for Richard
I have just posted a question about this on the Name Facts board but to try to get more responses I am mentioning it here. If you have ever heard of someone whose official name is Richard who goes by "Rit", please post a response on the Name Facts thread.

Never heard of it; certainly never encountered it. It makes me think of Ritalin, which is not a happy association.
I never have. The only Rit I know about is Rit dye for dyeing fabric/clothes.
It's reasonable, but I don't think it'll catch on because it's not all *that* reasonable. If I ever do see it I'll be willing to bet it was self-chosen as a teen or young adult.

I've never heard of this. It doesn't make much since to me.
Never known anyone using Rit
