I want to like it but I just can't. It is better than Eugene though. I think it would work better as a middle name.

I'm only "Meh" on it. E is usually my favorite initial for girls but I'm just not that into the Gene portion. Like a mesh up of Eunice & Gene. I don't hate it, but I'm not very into it.

That's my cousin's name. If my memory serves me right, initially she must have been named Victoria.
And, to be honest, as a small kid I preferred Victoria to Eugenia.
As for now... Sometimes I find this name boring, sometimes — endearing.
What I really like is when it's NNed Ginny.

I can't be completely objective about this one because it was my maternal grandmother's name. As such I like it a great deal.

My grandmother was generally called "Jean" by her relatives, by the way, and they spelled it that way instead of as Gene despite using it as a short form of Eugenia.
