Someone posted Myrna in their top names for January, which made me think of my late Aunt Myrna. I ended up locating her obituary with the power of Google, and in the rundown of everybody in her immediate family I came up with a group of people with some pretty delightful names. (Her husband was the one related to me, so a couple of these people I only met at her funeral.) She had been born in 1940. Anyway, here are her parents and siblings (the mother was the only one whose middle name was given):
Thomas
Luella Myrtle
&
Lila (I believe this is pronounced LIE-lah)
Dolores
Grace
Luella
Judy (don't know if it's short for Judith or not)
Myrna
Joseph
LeRoy
Thomas
Dennis
Thomas & Dennis were both mentioned as having predeceased my aunt, so I don't actually know where they were in the birth order.
And it seems like the actress Myrna Loy greatly contributed to the spike in her name's popularity in the late 30s / early 40s. But do you think the name Myrna could come back at all?
