I adore it because I love saccharine nicknames but I don't really care for Magdalena. It's a very cutesy nickname, suitable for a small child or otherwise very affectionate. Most Magdalenas wouldn't introduce themselves using this nn and an acquaintance using it (as opposed to Magda) without enough rapport being established would typically be considered infantilizing or presumptuous so I'd avoid burdening a child with Madzia as a full name. Luckily, it seems there can be at most one full name Madzia in Poland right now, as the name doesn't show up in statistics where two instances are the minimum to be included. In English, I wouldn't recommend this name, knowing how Jadzia got pronounced on ST. But if someone likes it that way, it's fine. I would find it amusing and I'd be interested to hear how an English-speaking Madzia pronounces her name (just like I love hearing the american actress named Zosia say her name, it's interesting how the sounds shift, what feels comfortable to speakers of different languages) but ultimately I wouldn't judge foreigners using this as a full first name as much as I'd judge Polish people.

Cute, as long as it’s pronounced correctly.
