Its like a pleasant mixture of Clare and Marinda. Its melodic, dated, and somewhat fresh.

I agree with the other respondents -- Clarinda is deliciously gothic.

this is going to sound like a weird compliment, but it sounds like the name of an 18th century gothic novel. Reminds me of Christabel and Carmilla; weird, sort of mashed together yet oddly elegant names. Would not name a child that, but perhaps a Gothic or Romantic protagonist.

This was my thought exactly! This name is deliciously pulpy and Gothic. Almost hysterically romantic. Therefore I love it.

I’m not crazy about -inda names, I like Clarissa better.

Clarinda is very 18th-century ornate and fake Latinate. Clare is calm and quiet with a long, distinguished history - far preferable.
