[Opinions] Re: Top 10 names of 2021
I commented on the other SSA post that showed up at the same time as this one, but I am somewhat impressed that the girls list is so static, since popularity for feminine names is known to fluctuate more than for masculine names. Though the only real change is replacing Alexander with Theodore (which really did make quite the jump, I'm with you in awe). There are going to be lots of little Theos in the future (and then that's going to become a dated nickname, and 20 years from now people will start using Ted like their great-grandfathers.)Regarding Harper, I don't think she'll leave until a new "sporty" name takes her place. Avery has been falling, so I don't think that's the one. Same with Riley (plus other spelling variants). I suppose Madison could return (blech!)...***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381

Madison is highly unlikely to return so soon. In a few years Everly might make the top ten, though. It's already close when you add spellings together.

Yeah, I don't think Madison will. At least not for a very long time. If anything, I'm pretty sure Luna will be Harper's replacement. Not exactly a "sporty" name, but doesn't necessarily have to be. Everly entering top 10 would be a surprise. It seems to be going down, and plus it just doesn't seem "top 10" material. Just a modern, trendy name. (although far better and friendlier than 'Beverly' IMO.)
