Precocious redhead is more Maeve than Isla. Isla seems sunny and laid-back. Maeve is more serious and sassy.
Having her be called Maevie by other characters would be appealing, and also would break up the Dave / Maeve rhyme.
I don't think a Maeve from Maine is weird at all.
