[Opinions] we're movin' on up ...
To the East Side! We finally got a piece of the pie!"The Jeffersons" was a very popular TV show in the 1980s; it was a spin-off of the earlier "All In the Family" show, with the Jefferson family being the black neighbors of the Bunkers. Mrs. Jefferson was named Louise, and her husband George called her Wheezy. It's kind of cute, but definitely tied closely to the show. And also calls to mind wheezing and heavy breathing. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!

No, her husband called her Weezie. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_JeffersonBefore this thread I have never seen anyone put an "h" into this pet form for Louise. It is normally spelled Weezie or Weezy. And as someone who still pronounces "wh" differently from "w", these are not even the same forms to me. Even for those who never pronounce the "h" in "wh" words, spelling it this way is a bad idea. Who wants to have a nickname that can be interpreted as having been given because you wheeze a lot?
