I prefer Sofia. It’s the more unique spelling. It just feels more versatile to me. I also just think it looks prettier. However I think I prefer Sophie to Sofie.

Both Sophia and Sofia are beautiful. Sofia has a more Slavic and Oriental feel. I think of a steadfast woman with Turkic features.
Sophia is similar, but it feels more Western, contemporary, and well.. white. I like this spelling better and I think of the Hagia Sophia.
I also prefer Sophie. No particular reason. I just like the ‘ph’.

I prefer spellings widely used in English. Sofia is a Spanish name, and anything but unique! I also prefer full names to nicknames.
My choices, therefore: Sophia, pronounced so FIE a, with nn Sophie if necessary, or Fia.

Sofia is also the Italian version. Sophie is a full name, It is the French version but can also be a nickname for Sophia.
