[Opinions] Tiffany
I have always loved the name Tiffany. Even though it was one of the most popular names of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s, it seems like I don’t know a ton. Is it too dated?

I like it. It's got a bad rep over time, kind of like Whitney, Brittany, and Courtney. They are all fine names.I like Tiphanie and Tiphania too.
I love Tiffany! I had a best friend named Tiffany growing up.
I think it's just a bit dated, but it'll linger for more years in the top 1000 before finally leaving. To me, Tiffany is a bubbly and fun name. I'm surprised this spelling was the most popular in France, more so than the French forms Tiphanie and Tiphaine - perhaps it will be tagged as a French name on BtN in the future?
Absolutely not! Tiffany is classic. I wouldn't worry about it being outdated at all.
One of the nicest moms I know is named Tiffany. She wears it very well.
The only thing I wondered about is that it's quite a mature name for a baby. It would call for a cute nickname.

Tiffin is a word for lunch, because of a metal lunch tin used in India, where the Brits picked up the idea and the word. So Tiffany mostly has that association for me, which makes it mildly comical as a glamorous fn.
So dated, so evocative of a very specific era. I actually had never looked at the history of the name and find it very striking that there's a Middle Ages-dated history to it - I genuinely would have assumed it was a byproduct of Breakfast at Tiffany's.I've always thought it sounded pretty darn silly, frankly. Almost kitschy.
"Breakfast at Tiffany's" didn't hurt the name, but there is no character named Tiffany in that work. The now-forgotten Broadway play "Mary, Mary", which had a character named Tiffany who was the beautiful young romantic rival to the character Mary (and was made into a 1963 film itself) probably had as much to do with the idea that Tiffany could be an appropriate name for a girl.
It's not terrible, it does feel very 80s because of the pop star Tiffany... for a long time I had some resentment towards it because it's a common misnomer given to me. I've been called Tiffany many, many times in my life and it used to upset me lol
I've actually never met a Tiffany, and I really want to. Tiffanys are almost like a legendary creature to me; I've heard they're out there, somewhere....Tiffany is nice. It's very sticky-sweet, but in a satisfying way. It's bright and shiny, like a glossy candy.
I echo the sentiment, Tiffany does have a delightfully sweet candy sort of aura about it, though I associate it more with cotton candy.
I've only met one Tiffany so far in my lifetime. I was so sure there'd be more of them, though, since this is practically THE quintessential 80's name. Where are they all hiding?
It's not my name but I've been frequently called Tiffany throughout my life, does that count? lol
I'll take it! lol
Tiffany definitely didn't last very long as popular names go, and it does kind of have a bimbo image, but I've always thought it was a cute cheerful kind of name.
I also feel like I've barely met any - definitely one, but that might be it! Even though it was #16 when I was born.I like the sound and meaning and think it's more usable than Brittany. I like that it's a medieval name but sounds so modern. I think it's fun to make combos with. Although yeah, it is a bit dated.

Sorry, nor my type. Annoying rich girl vibes to me.
