[Opinions] Re: What name that has left the top 1000 in the last few years are you most sad about?
I love this question!!!I'm most sad about:
Christine (2019)
Ciara (2016)
Crystal (2021)
Denise (2020)
Gary (2022)
Jada (2022)
Kristina (2017)
Lindsey (2019)
Marissa (2019)
Tara (2017)
Terrence (2018)I understand why Gary left; I'm just nostalgic because it's my dad's name. The others I genuinely don't understand because they're gorgeous names. Christine seems like it should've been a classic, and I think Crystal had classic potential too. All the names I listed are much better than Baylor, Collins, Kinsley, Murphy, Oaklynn, Remington, Poppy, Sutton... sigh.

Guess I can add Simone to this list!
Simone left? Wow. I mean I knew it wasn't a super common name or anything, but still. It's pretty nice.
I'm surprised Christine, Gary and Denise were in tne top that long. I'm sad to see Jada and Marissa leave, despite not being my favorite names. Every new name that enters the top 1000 makes me want to puke. Why parents! They won't be kids forever! All the new boys names sound like there from a sci fi movie and all the girl names have lynn or Leigh at the end.
I truly despise the -lynn and -leigh endings. Not a fan of -lee either. -lyn and -ley are okay, but the other endings are not it.
If it helps, a lot of those type of names are declining. I've been tracking all those -leigh &
-lee variant spellings within the u.s for a few years and the majority of them have been falling quickly. I hope the momentum remains.
