Just a minor correction: the southern gentleman character in Gone With the Wind was Ashley Wilkes. An example of a male who spells his name Ashleigh is the cartoonist Ashleigh Brilliant:

Oh, for some reason I thought it was spelled that way. I've met a lady who has a son named Courtney (Court for short), a real estate agent man named Leslie, and other men with names that used to be masculine. I've heard that they are using names like Ryan, Rory, Devin, Quinn, and Shawn for girls now. I always thought of them as masculine names, the secretary at my high school, 7 years ago, was named Shawn.
