Help[Opinions] Angela
What do you think of it? What does it connote to you? Do you prefer it as a first or middle name? Do any combos immediately strike you?
I myself have thought of Angela Rae, Angela Solveig, Angela Thursday, and Angela Thisbe, off the top of my head. Something that takes the name to new and eccentric heights would be very much appreciated.
And (though this question isn't all that important, I'd love an answer) do you think it would be a weird fit with my other favourites (I made a top ten recently, so if you need examples, take a look at that), or would it blend in with the sorta-dated, off-beat vibe?
And yes, she would be called Angie (or Anji, if I was feeling very Simon & Garfunkel).

I love the name Angela. I don't find it dated at all. Angie is cute. It is a very spunky name.

I've always loved the name Angela and I love the nickname Angie too.

I do't really care for Angela all that much. I mean, it's pretty enough, but it seems so... bland. It's almost a "default" name, like Sarah, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Jane, Mary. Just doesn't do anything for me.
I know Angelas named:

Angela is very blah and tired to me. It's popular here for women in their late 40s/ early 50s so it's dated but not the point that it's ready for revival ... the current batch of Angela's don't even have grandchildren yet. My dad's office has four secretaries, 3 of whom are called Angela. I also find the sound Angie very grating. Sorry.

I suppose Angela is a little more convential than some of the names on your list, but I don't think it stands out that much (or matters, for that matter). I think coupling it with a more "out-there" middle name is a good idea, though. I like Angela Solveig especially.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Angela, or any Angel- names (although I have a soft spot for Angelina, liking Ms. Jolie and all). I like the nickname Anji, though. Who doesn't love the sight of a "j" and a "i" side-by-side? :D

Pretty nice. I'm liking Angela Solveig & Angela Thursday. I really like a bunch of Angel names (Angela & Angelica for girls, Ángel & Angelo for boys), but they always feel a little too corny/trendy to use in real life. Well, maybe not Angelo. Anyhow, I digress. I think they fit very well with your top 10. To me, Angie is too Rolling Stones and Anji is too Simon & Garfunkel, but that's up to you. I always liked the nn Ange, which is the French word for 'angel.' It's not pronounced like Anndj (if you know what I mean), but like...well there's no real way of transliterating it. Argh.

oh and angela eliane (ell-ayne/elli-ayne) and angela elianna (elli-ah-nah/elli-anne-na)are pretty combos too!

I wouldn't use Angela myself, but I do think that it's nice. I think that it fits in with your other names. Angela Rae flows well, but I don't think that the combo is particularly interesting. Angela Thursday has more energy to it.

I love Angela, I think it's really pretty in that non-frilly feminine way. I tend to prefer it as a first name, though I did know a Marie named Marie Angela and I always thought that was rather pretty.

It's not a name that says much to me. It's classic without a classic feeling.
However, I love the nickname Anji. I think Angela Thursday is lovely - it fits quite well and gives the name quite a vibe.
As for fitting in with your names: It might stick out a bit, but not too much.

Instead . . . no matter how hard I try, it comes out being clunky, middle-class, 70s & 80s blah.
It *might* grow on me if I think about it enough though!
Of your combos, Angela Rae is the only one that really flows right to me, but I like your other Rae combos better. I don't think it would be too weird with your other combos though - it's not trendy enough to stand out against them.
