[Opinions] Imogen or Imagen
We're expecting baby #7 this early fall.
Boy names are all picked out:
Ian David
Noah David
But it's the girl names I am having trouble with.
I'll start off with the fact that all of my children have an "A" in their first name: Sariah Anne, Rachel Elizabeth, Mason Nicolas, Liam Joseph, Kaden Luis, and Jaylen May.
So I guess I want a name that has an "A" in it also. My problem is that I like the name Imogen. We thought of possibly changing the "o" to and "a" for Imagen instead.
The middle name would be Ayries.
Imagen Ayries or Imogen Ayries
The other possible girl name is Nora or Norah.
Nora Layne
Nora Elayne
Norah Layne
Norah Elayne
Which names do you all like better?
We're thinking that this one is probably a girl. Nothing ot scientifically base it on, it's just how we feel.

I love Nora, but I also love Imogen. Please do not change the spelling of Imogen. Imagen looks silly, imo. And is too close to the word "imagine". Nora has an "a" in it. I like both Ian and Noah (though Ian is a little close in sound to Liam, that may be a 'yelling across the house' problem :-/).
Good luck!
BTW, all of your kids are gorgeous. :)

I love Imogen (Imagen) because it reminds me of the word imagine. So I guess in that case Imagen works well.
I like:
Noah David: love Noah
Imogen Ayries: if you use this name, I'd say go with Imogen and use a mn with a "a". I really like Imogen, but Imagen looks like a misspelling of imagine.
Nora Layne: I dislike extra letters in most cases, so I prefer Nora with no "h". Nora Layne or Lane sounds the best to me.

I would like Noah David or Imogen Nora.
If you use Imogen, I vote for this spelling only.
If you decide to have an A in the first name, I vote for Nora Elayne.
DH :-)

I prefer Imogen. By using Imagen you would be changing the way it is pronounced from (im-o-gen) to (im-uh-gen). So if you like the name Imogen I would stay with that name. Also, technically if your using the middle name Ayries your child will still have an A in their name. So all your children would still have A's in there names. If that was a concern for you. But I think Imogen is a very pretty name :)
I guess I kinf of already pronounce it Im-uh-gen more than Im-o-gen, but it could be an accent thing.
I was also meaning an "a" in the first name only. But I am partial to Imogen so who know it could change wit the birth of this baby, LOL But we still have 7½ months to go, LOL

LOL it must be an accent thing. Im sure whatever name you choose will be really nice :) And congratulations also :)
My little sister is an Imogen so I'm definetly biased towards Imogen. To be Imagen looks like Imagine or Image not Imogen.
I prefer the Norah spelling as it just looks must like a fullname Nora is a bit nicknamey to me. Norah Layne works better as Norah Elayne kind of flows into one word.

Imagen looks like a buterching of "imagine". I really wouldn't recommend it! Imogen is nice, though. Nora Layne is fine too.
Tritto.

Your name is awesome! How did that name come about? Who named you? Is there a story that goes along with it?

LOL
Thank you! It's just my screenname, so I guess you could say I named myself. ;o) Unless you're talking about my real name, Korrine, which is related to how I chose my screenname, so I'll tell you both stories.
I'm adopted, and while my bio-mom was pregnant w/me, she & her sister nicknamed me "Corrine" after a character on the 70's tv series "Soap" who was adopted. She made no mention of what my nn was in any of the legal papers. When my parents adopted me, they had also watched the series "Soap" and liked the name Corrine. However, they decided to spell it "Korrine." About 2 years ago, I was contacted by my birth mother and told all this. Since then, I've discovered that my ancestry is mostly Welsh. Cambria is another name for Wales as Erin is another name for Ireland, so I chose Cambria as my screenname. :o)
So, there's the story. Pretty sweet, huh? :op

Heartwarming story. Thank you for sharing it. I also think Cambria is a pretty name. I recently added it to my select list of favourite girls' names. Corrine/Korrine has been growing on me lately. It is the name of a very kind & helpful secretary at the University that I attend.
:o)

That is so interesting!
Thanks for the background. It's always interesting to me how people who have more unique names (to me, anyway) come to have that name.
