[Opinions] Re: Top 50 Western Australian girls names for 2006
Asha isn't a spin-off from Asher. Asha was slightly popular for girls in the 1980s, and Australia is currently seeing a slight resurgence of some popular 80s names, no doubt as the current wave of new parents are naming their children after their friends. Asha also combines the popular Ash- sound with the popular -a ending, so it's perfect for the current naming climate.Indiana is popular because anything associated with the US is popular amongst the working and welfare classes. There's lots of little Dakotas running around too.
