Actually, mine is spelled
Keeley, but you get the picture. I had a lot of trouble growing up because where I am from (THe cornfields of Illinois) there are no other Keeleys. I find it funny that people think it is trendy for that reason. When I was younger (I am 22, so I am from the Jessica/Jennifer/Ashley/Brittany generation) no one had heard of my name. I got called
Kelly all the time. But now that every other little girl is named
Kayley or
Kylie, I get those all the time. So, in my opinion, I don't really think of my name as in the same tradition as those. And I never knew
Keeley was a surname until a couple years ago.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is that I like my name, but it gets misspelled all the time (
Keely, Keilee, Keyleigh, Keeli, etc), people mess it up all the time (
Kelly,
Kylie,
Kayley,
Kelsey,
Carrie,
Julie), and I get stupid nicknames (
Kitty,
Kiki, Kiwi).
But overall I like it alright. It isn't something I would use for a daughter (I detest the letter K...the trendiest of all letters) but I like that it is my name. I think that because I have an uncommon name I like to research names and want to find something unusual for my children.
HTH!!!:)
