I don't think that a little girl named
Edith "
Edie" would necessarily be picked on for having an old lady name. It sounds soft and youthful despite being more common among older generations, and the nickname
Edie adds to its youthfulness. Older names, such as
Evelyn and
Vivian, are on the rise, so why not
Edith as well? I know of someone who named her daughter
Ester, which I find refreshing.
Edith actually sounds more "now" than Esther/Ester does.
Felicity is a pretty name, and Lissy is a good nickname for it. I think it works well with
Edith "
Edie."
