[Opinions] Re: Top 50 Western Australian girls names for 2006

Asha isn't a spin-off from Asher. Asha was slightly popular for girls in the 1980s, and Australia is currently seeing a slight resurgence of some popular 80s names, no doubt as the current wave of new parents are naming their children after their friends. Asha also combines the popular Ash- sound with the popular -a ending, so it's perfect for the current naming climate.
Indiana is popular because anything associated with the US is popular amongst the working and welfare classes. There's lots of little Dakotas running around too.
