I love the name Nathaniel (no nn).
I say go for it. The only problem I can see is if she wants to name her future son Nathaniel. I know my cousin was offended when another family member used her dad's mn for their son's mn, although I think she was being a bit dramatic.

I know that my SIL was planning on giving one of her triplets the middle name Michael after her father - even though her twin had already used it. I don't really see it as that big of an issue. They're not siblings.
