Is the surname "Hoze" a middle eastern surname?
It is not pronounced like "hozé"..it's pronounced like "hose" as in a water hose.
I am an African American trying to find the origin of my last name because it is not a very common last name (especially for African Americans), and the only people I know with my last name I am related to.

I don't see this as a Middle Eastern name. I think it's Western European. Possible explanations -
Dutch, Hoos, possibly deriving from the forename Joseph.
German, Hos,Hoose,Hoese, meaning unknown to me.
English, Hoes, Howes; among several names deriving from the Old English hoh, meaning a projecting ridge of land. Alternatively, Hose, a metonymic for a seller of hose.
