Re: Nimlos

A search on ancestry.com shows a few people of Norwegian origin (they all seem to be related to each other). It looks like one person anglicized his name from Namløs to Nimlos when he emigrated to the US.
Namløs is a rare Norwegian surname (used by less than 100 people as of 2022)

https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigurd_Naml%C3%B8s
It's probably derived form the name of a farm in Vestfold og Telemark County in Southern Norway.

Hope that helps!

This is a lot of great information, thank you! I do think I heard from the bearer that it was originally Namlos so that seems to connect.
I'm wondering if anyone who speaks Norwegian would know if it translates into anything. A quick google Norwegian to English translation seems to say it means, "Nameless?"
