Najah - Polish Jewish?
The surname Najah seems to be most popular in Morocco. I encountered a Polish (presumably Ashkenazi Jewish - she works at the Jewish theatre in Warsaw and also performs in Yiddish) actress and singer named Sylwia Najah. I haven't been able to find any information about her origins that would suggest she was North African. Does anyone know anything about the origins of this surname?

The other thing is, it could be a Polonised form of a Yiddish surname, so you could try looking at anything that sounds similar.
"Najah" in Polish would be pronounced like nah-yah or nah-yakh (more likely the first one), if that helps.
