Possibly a variant of Keinrath, from the personal name Konrad. Swabian from medieval Latin caminata (camera) ‘room with a fireplace (in medieval castles)’, which by extension came to a freestanding stone building for storage or a hostelry and hence a topographic name. In Germany a much more common form is Kemnat or Kemnath, also a common place name.
