Means "from Buren", a small town near the coast of Ameland, one of the small islands in the north of the Netherlands. Buren is also the name of a small city in the Dutch province Gelderland. The former countess Anna van Buren married William of Orange, the founder of the Dutch royal family. The current family still uses the title Count of Buren.
