That Garion was a combination of the parent's names. Gary [Gari] and Sharon.

I guess it could be either, but thats what *I* first thought.

Hmm, interesting point . . .

It could be a combination of Gary and Sharon, and merely a coincidence that it's the same as a David Eddings character's name.
