[Games] Welcome Jubilee, Antonia, Nicolas, and Jean-Paul!
in reply to a message by Catalina-lirio
You have received three Haitian orphans whose parents died in the recent earthquake and a young girl from Guatemala.
Jubilee is 6 years old. Jean-Paul is her baby brother. He is an infant, so we don't know much about him. Both Jubilee and Jean-Paul are HIV positive, since their mother had AIDS when she gave birth to them. Jubilee has short hair. She is shy and chews on her hands a lot. She loves to play with dolls and animals. She has not started school, since her family was too impoverished to provide that for her. She is illiterate. She is malnourished and needs to be fed accordingly. Jubilee and Jean-Paul were raised in a French-Creole-speaking household.
Nicolas is 3 years old. He is a very bubbly child who gets into a lot of trouble if he is not constantly watched. He came from a family of nine children, so he is used to a lot of hustle and bustle. If that is not present, he will create it. Not much is known about his passions or talents, as he was born to an impoverished mother in Port-Au-Prince.
Antonia is from Cobán, Guatemala. She is 7 years old. Her ethnic makeup is half-Mayan, half-Hispanic. She has thick black hair and very dark eyes. She has hemophilia, and so she requires frequent blood transfusions. She cannot read or write. She speaks Spanish and was raised Catholic. She is very kind and relates well to younger children and animals.
Congratulations and keep us updated!

Two years later, Andrei, Jubilee and Antonia have all started school together. Andrei enjoys the numbers and telling time, while Antonia is most happy when she is painting and drawing or playing with the dogs. She and Sebastian have bonded especially. Because of her hemophilia, she can't take dance classes with Jubilee, or "Lee" as everyone calls her (the nickname came about because Jean Paul couldn't say her full name).
Both girls speak French fluently now, Lee with a slight Creole accent. Natalia worked with Antonia in Spanish and French until she understood it. They have picked up some Hebrew words from visits to Israel, and basic English from school.
Nicolas, Sebastian, and Jean Paul all go to a local daycare while the three older children are in school. Both Nicolas and Sebastian love to play football (soccer) with their dad, and go to the park on summer nights. Natalia and Ben found out that Nicolas' older brother George was adopted by a family in Paris. George writes to them and they write back with what Nicolas wants to say. Jean Paul is just a very happy 2 year old, not much trouble, and full of laughter.
They will be joined by another sister in a few months, who Ben and Natalia plan to name Elena Cateline.
