From the
Royal House of: Glorian
In the Kingdom of: Fairlin
More rumors abounded over baby
Tatiana's birth, especially as she was born perfectly healthy at eight months.
Nicky is extremely upset over these allegations, which she knows are false; she had been with a few men before she married the king, but not for a year before or since. She takes some comfort in the knowledge that her husband and even her stepchildren believe her. She is not as nervous with
Tatiana as she was with the twins and is taking more and more of a role. This is mostly thanks to
Wyatt and
Cecelia, who have begun to feel guilty about their cool treatment of
Nicky and have been helping her learn to care for babies.
Alexander adores
Tatiana, or
Tia, as he calls her, and is thoroughly angry at the allegations against the queen, especially as this time they name a culprit in the affair: Lord
Hamish, a cousin of
Mirabelle's and a member of the royal household. He is beginning to suspect that
Hamish may have started the rumors himself to feed the general unpopularity of his cousin's successor; this seems especially suspicious as the rumors really began after the kingdom began to warm to
Nicky after seeing how she bonded with
Tatiana. He truly believes that most people don't actually believe the rumors, but the fact they exist at all creates trouble, and he has had enough of that.
Both
Nicky and
Alexander have been going through rough times.
Alexander cannot help being still very much in love with
Mirabelle, though it has been four years since her death. He struggles with grief that she cannot be there to see their children grow up, missing her sound advice and level-headed intelligence, and guilt that he does not love his current wife.
Nicky, who never thought she cared about love, is finding that she does. She is tired of being stuck in a marriage with civility and some fondness, but no passion, no love. She is also tired of the cool relationship she has with her stepchildren. Theit hostility and dislike went away as gradually they realized she wouldn't try to replace
Mirabelle, but there is still a barrier between them, and she hates constantly being reminded she is an outsider. Even
Adam, who never met his mother and has known
Nicky almost all his life, does not seem to consider her part of his family. That is why she was so thirlled when
Wyatt and
Cecelia offered to teach her to care for
Joseph,
Elizabeth, and
Tatiana. She is lonely, and she truly hopes that she and her stepchildren can finally bond. She wants to leave Flighty
Nicky behind.
