Sasha and Stasya were glad that their little family was unaffected by the avalanche. They were, however, shocked that the king responded only with happiness. He offered some money to the people who survived from that village, but other than that just decided to have a big celebration about the fact that it wasn't worse! Sasha and Stasya were disappointed in their ruler, and decided to protest. They thought they should have a day of sadness to commemorate the dead. One of the King's brothers paid them a large sum of money to remain silent, so they bought a larger house and were a bit soothed.
