I've been liking
Eve a lot lately but trying to determine the same thing: nickname or full name. I do know a family who named one of their daughters
Eve and it's very cute on her, so I know that
Eve and
Eva by themselves do work. Right now
Eva is getting a bit popular like
Ava so I'm liking
Eve much better.
My favorite long names are
Evangeline and
Evelyn (I prefer the British pronunciation EEV-lyn) but I usually think of using
Evie as a nickname with them and not
Eve or
Eva (they definitely work though).
Evalyn,
Evelina,
Evadne and
Evangelina are all nice as well and would work perfectly with
Eve or
Eva as a nickname. I also found
Evette which is quite pretty (there is
Evonne too).
Genevieve does work with nn
Eve, in fact it works really well because you can hear the
Eve sound at the end.
Guinevere doesn't seem to work as much because although you can see the
Eve in it you can't hear it and nicknames seem to work best if you can hear part of the sound in the full name.
Oh, and I was just thinking what about
Niamh or
Neve?
Maeve too or
Maeva? Those are probably too short to deserve a nickname but they came to mind.
Hope this helps!
