Year 1 (Random-Car accident; Pet): Emory and Kolleen married in a small ceremony. Their honeymoon was short as well, and soon they were getting used to married life in a downtown apartment. Kolleen’s acting career was just kicking off, and Emory had a strong pediatric practice going on. However, just three months after their wedding, Emory was in a car accident on his way home from work. He’d crashed head-on into another car. He was rushed to the hospital, as he had a concussion and two broken ribs. Luckily, he healed, and was back to work in six months.
To cheer Emory up when he was home recovering, Kolleen went out and bought a turtle. Emory was pleased with him, and named the small animal Zackery
Year 2 (Pet; Family Event-Death): Emory’s back to work and doing just fine. Kolleen recently got a part in a popular movie franchise, and his enjoying her work so far. Emory and Kolleen, feeling like they weren’t ready to have children yet, decided to get another pet. After some debate, they bought two fish; tetras named Blue and Red.
In late August, Emory’s mother, Mami Amilia, died of old age. She was seventy-eight years old, and had dealt with numerous health problems in the last years of her life. She had Emory when she was in her forties; he was her youngest child.
Year 3 (Family Event-Illness; Family Event-Family reunion): Kolleen catches ill in March, and has to drop out of the movie. In turns out she has pneumonia, which runs in her family. She was bedridden for nearly two months before she finally got over it. In August, Kolleen’s family had a reunion in a park near the Broadbents’ apartment. Kolleen, of course, went, and so did Emory. Kolleen came from a small family, she only has two siblings, and one of them is sixteen. The day was fun, however, and they made plans to see Kolleen’s older brother Flaviu and his wife sometime.
Year 4 (Travel; Family Event-Pet): The Broadbents decide they need a vacation. Emory’s practice is doing wonderfully, but Kolleen can’t seem to get another acting job. They go to Sechura, Peru for a well-deserved vacation. The two fish Blue and Red recently died, though Zackery the turtle is still going strong. However, Kolleen decided that she wanted yet another pet, and went to the pound to pick out rescue animal. She came home with a tabby cat named Tasha. Tasha was rescued off the street, and Kolleen is currently working on training her.
Year 5 (Travel; Pet): The Broadbent family goes traveling again, this time for a short job Kolleen is working. They go to Melbourne, Australia for three weeks in mid-October. In November, Zackery the turtle died. Emory, regretting the loss of his turtle, buys a hamster to “fill the empty space”. The hamster has been named Aussi.
Year 6 (Pet; Job-Quits): Unfortunately, Aussi died in early January when Kolleen let him loose in the apartment, then lost him. To make it up to Emory, she bought him an iguana named Steve. All year Kolleen has been working on a movie in which she plays a main character. However, she was having issues with the people on set, so she quit in July. It was all over the news, and Kolleen is laying low for a while.
Year 7 (Birth-Girl; Pet): In March of this year, Kolleen gave birth to a baby girl! The birth was a surprise, as Kolleen had no idea she was pregnant. The little sweetheart is green-eyed like her daddy, and has little wisps of curly brown hair. Emory named her Amilia for his mother, and Kolleen chose Suzette for her middle name. Ami is nine months old now, and is a little angel. She’s crawling like nobody’s business, and everyone in the family, including Tasha the temperamental tabby cat, dotes on her.
Kolleen’s brother Flaviu bought Ami a turtle when she was born. Kolleen named it Joisee.
Year 8 (Family Event-Divorce; Job-New job): Soon after Ami was born, Kolleen and Emory started having problems. The continued until April, when Kolleen filed for divorce. After a brief battle, Kolleen won custody of Ami, as well as the cat, turtle, and apartment. Kolleen has dropped Emory’s last name and is now using her maiden name, Gardener. In September, she started seeing a man named Andie Walmsley, who is a TV actor.
At Andie’s request, Kolleen decided to try TV acting. She appeared in an episode of the show Andie stars in, and loved it. She is currently looking into other TV jobs.
Year 9 (Random-Car accident; Adoption-Brazil): Late one night Andie and Kolleen were coming home from a date and their car got hit by a drunk driver. Luckily, Ami wasn’t in the car; she was at home with Kolleen’s brother. Andie and Kolleen both came out of the accident with minimal damage. Andie and Kolleen got married in May, and took a very quick honeymoon. Andie adopted Ami, giving her his last name instead of Emory’s.
Kolleen read about Brazilian adoption, and fell in love with the idea. Andie took some convincing, but eventually he agreed to adopt. So in November Andie and Kolleen brought home a sixteen-year-old girl from Brazil named Agata. They decided to have her keep her birth surname as a second middle name. Agata, or Aggie, is a big help around the house, helping with meals, washing the dishes, keeping Ami entertained. Ami, for her part, loves having a big sister. She knows she can get Aggie to do whatever she wants.
