It's better than Coraline, that's for sure. Coraline was a weird and boring book, and it looks like a lipstick color and is hard to know how to pronounce it.
Caroline isn't terrible, but to me it has a sad, whiny, depressed sound to it. Almost dowdy, yet it's like the go-to name for upper-class white people in the city.
Carolina is prettier. It's usually clear that it's pronounced like the states, but I do know a little Carolina who is from Mexico and her name is pronounced Care-a-LEE-na.
Carolyn is also nice, but a bit middle-aged.
