I like Caroline, partly because it's my name. I also think it's a nice classic and it has a pleasant sound. Is it a favorite? No. I wouldn't use it on a child even if it weren't my own name. Partly, that's because it's so damn common down here (US Southeast). I actually really like Coraline. I think it's quirky in a good way. I don't think I'd use it, but it'd make a good name for an animal (again if my name wasn't Caroline).

Hmmmm. I've lived in South Carolina for 20 years now, and I've never met a Caroline. It would be refreshing if even one of the myriad Heathers, Sarahs, Ashleys, Brittanys, and Amandas I've met here were named Caroline.

I'm shocked as well. I'm a few years younger and from NC, but my experience is the same. Lots of peers with this name.
