I just like it better. It has a more pleasing look and sound. There's the bonus of a Constance being in Redwall, and a short story I read recently used this name for a little girl who can do magic, which seemed perfect.
I've never liked Temperance that much. The beginning sounds like temper, and it just isn't as pleasing as Constance.
