I like it. I mainly associate it with the Spiderwick character. I've never actually met one IRL. Because of the "mal" part, you do have to be okay with a certain amount of... I don't want to say "edginess" because that's not what I mean, but... you can't be supersitious about the meaning, and you have to be a little ironic or facetious about it.
