It's a great name - lots of history. I have four cousins with the name and two close friends - four Catherines, a Katherine and a Katharine. I also know two Catrins (the Welsh version), a Katrine and a Katrien. I like all of the spellings I've mentioned.

I don't know if Catherine will fall out of use, but I suspect that if it does it'll come back eventually, as there are enough famous Catherines to stop it becoming really obscure.
